Former NetApp and ControlUp VP Joins Cameyo to Help Enterprises & Channel Partners Succeed in the Transition to Secure Digital Workspaces

CARY, N.C. – Nov. 17, 2021Cameyo, the Virtual Application Delivery (VAD) platform that enables ultra-secure remote & hybrid work from any device without virtual desktops or VPNs, today announced that former NetApp and ControlUp VP JD Helms has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Channel. Helms will help Cameyo continue its rapid global expansion and will ensure the success of organizations and channel partners looking to enable simple, secure, and cost-effective remote & hybrid work without the cost and complexity of virtual desktops or VPNs.

Helms brings to Cameyo 20+ years of End User Computing experience, including 10+ years focused on cloud-based SaaS offerings. Previously Helms was the President at virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) company CloudJumper, where he set the company’s market vision and strategy, leading to the company’s acquisition by NetApp where he served as Vice President of Modern Workspaces. Most recently, Helms was the VP of Channel & Alliance at ControlUp, the Digital Employee Experience management company that just recently closed a $100M round of funding.

“Throughout my career I have focused on identifying seismic shifts in the industry and then making sure I am in the best place to help organizations not just survive those shifts, but thrive through them,” said JD Helms, SVP of Global Sales & Channel at Cameyo. “The move to remote and hybrid work made it abundantly clear that the decades-old virtual desktop (VDI & DaaS) model was not a feasible solution for most organizations, which accelerated the shift from virtual desktops to Virtual Application Delivery (VAD). Cameyo has been leading the charge in the VAD space for 3 years, and the combination of their technology, deep partnerships, and commitment to customer success convinced me this was the best place for me to play a key role in enabling the future of work.”

In his new role, Helms will be responsible for the overall development and execution of Cameyo’s global sales strategy, including the rapid expansion of the company’s global sales team to accommodate Cameyo’s current hyper-growth. He will also be responsible for driving the success of Cameyo’s global channel partners, and expanding the channel program to help more distributors and resellers successfully enable their customers to make the shift from virtual desktops to Virtual Application Delivery without having to worry about vendor lockin.

“As the world searches for solutions that will help them enable secure remote & hybrid work and learning, legacy and incumbent virtual desktop providers are using this opportunity to lock organizations into their closed ecosystems,” said Helms. “Vendor lockin is nothing new, but it is particularly dangerous at this point in history where more organizations than ever before need to enable their people to be productive from anywhere and any device without compromising security or long-term functionality. Cameyo has always been the no-vendor-lockin choice for enabling secure digital workspaces, and that flexibility plays a key role in why organizations from Fortune 500s to SMBs to school districts and everything in between select Cameyo over the large incumbents.”

“There are critical moments along every successful company’s path, and one of those moments is when incredibly well-respected industry veterans see so much potential in what you’ve built that they decide to join your mission,” said Andrew Miller, Co-Founder and CEO of Cameyo. “JD is a pillar of the End User Computing (EUC) community, and we are extremely honored to have him join the team. His expertise in scaling global sales and channel organizations will help ensure that we continue to provide our customers and partners with the world-class service we’re known for even as we continue to accelerate our global growth.”
